Information TasteCue handles
TasteCue stores the information needed to provide your account and food-planning experience. This can include your name, email address, account identifier, household and dietary preferences, allergies, optional nutrition goals, meal and water logs, Kitchen inventory, meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, saved recipes, Veyren conversations and action records, feedback, and limited product-usage events.
Nutrition values, food preferences, Kitchen contents, and related records may reveal information about your health or eating habits. You choose what to provide and can edit or remove supported records in the app.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate your account, keep your data available across sessions, personalize meal plans and grocery lists, calculate the nutrition and water history you choose to record, answer Veyren requests using relevant saved context, operate scan features, troubleshoot problems, understand product performance, and improve the beta.
Veyren and AI processing
Veyren is TasteCue's AI food companion. When you use an AI-assisted feature, relevant food context, the messages you submit, or content you explicitly choose may be sent to OpenAI to generate a response, meal plan, recipe image, nutrition estimate, or proposed Kitchen review. TasteCue avoids including your name or email address in model requests.
AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Review recipes, nutrition estimates, allergy information, food-safety guidance, detected items, and proposed actions before relying on or confirming them. TasteCue is not a substitute for medical or dietary advice.
Meal and Kitchen photos
A meal or Kitchen photo is sent only when you choose to use the corresponding scan feature. TasteCue processes the image transiently to prepare a structured result and does not retain the photo bytes, filename, or embedded photo metadata in its application storage.
OpenAI processes the image to fulfill the scan request with storage disabled for the model response. OpenAI may still retain API inputs or outputs for a limited period for abuse monitoring under its applicable service terms and data controls. An unconfirmed structured scan review may remain in TasteCue for up to 24 hours. After confirmation, the detailed analysis is cleared and only the canonical meal log or Kitchen update and minimal provenance remain.
Analytics and diagnostics
TasteCue records limited product interactions, performance information, and diagnostic details to operate and improve the beta. Examples include generation or scan outcomes, shopping-mode use, supported Veyren response types, request timing, retry attempts, and estimated AI usage cost. These records are linked to the account when needed for app functionality, support, reliability, or authorized beta operations. Analytics do not include the full text of private Veyren conversations.
Sharing and service providers
TasteCue uses service providers, including Supabase for authentication and application data, Vercel for web delivery, Apple for iOS distribution and platform services, and OpenAI for approved AI-assisted features. These providers process data on TasteCue's behalf under their applicable terms. A limited number of authorized beta operators may access operational records when needed to support the service, investigate errors, or review feedback.
No advertising or tracking
TasteCue does not sell personal information, serve third-party advertising, use data brokers, or track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising or advertising measurement.
Your choices and account deletion
You can edit or remove supported meal and water logs, nutrition targets, preferences, Kitchen items, and other records in TasteCue. You can permanently delete your account from More → Delete Account. Account deletion removes the authentication account and associated TasteCue data, including Veyren conversations, subject to limited records a provider may retain as required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or its documented retention practices.
